Say goodbye to the milestones and compose a new movement - Review of 2022 SIWC

With the successful hosting of the SIWC 2022 Appreciation Conference and Annual Awards Ceremony on December 9th at the Jinjiang Small Auditorium in Shanghai, this highly anticipated industry event has also come to a perfect end. However, this is just a comma on the path of SIWC's progress. After a brief rest, we will continue to work hard and start a new chapter!

In this competition, wines from nearly 20 countries and regions around the world underwent a 3-day blind evaluation by 19 top domestic and international judges, and ultimately won 12 Best, 43 Gold, 86 Silver, and 186 Bronze awards. With the rapid development of Wine in China's wine market, big wine merchants with a strong sense of business have noticed this "huge cake" and sought a variety of exposure methods. SIWC has accumulated years of experience and reputation, and has become the best choice for major wineries and merchants both domestically and internationally.

As a famous New Zealand estate originating in 1916, Babich has participated in SIWC for multiple consecutive sessions, each of which has won multiple honors. SIWC2022 can be said to be the harvest year of Babich, winning "five gold, two silver and three bronze" at one fell swoop, and two more wines broke through the tight encirclement, becoming the best Trophy, the best everlasting longing for each other "BABICH MARLBOROUGH SAUVIGNON BLANC" and the best Pinot Noir "BABICH BLACK LABEL MARLBOROUGH PINOT NOIR".

Another "big winner" of SIWC2022, ASC Fine Wines, achieved an impressive record of "5 gold, 7 silver, and 15 bronze" in the competition. It is precisely such excellent wine distributors who bring high-quality wine to the Chinese market, allowing Chinese consumers to taste the fine wines from around the world, and also enabling the efficient and vigorous development of the Chinese wine industry.

Although it is an emerging wine producing country, China's strength can not be underestimated. After years of exploration and adjustment, the quality of Wine in China has been outstanding on the international stage. Represented by Ningxia Changhe Jade Winery, Fangsi Winery, Canaan Winery, and Sino French Winery, all wineries participated in this competition, covering major wine producing regions in China such as Ningxia, Xinjiang, Hebei, and Shandong. They achieved a record of "8 gold, 11 silver, and 22 copper", and four wines won the Trophy Best of this year.

There is also an award-winning wine that has to be mentioned in this competition, that is, "Double Trophy" - "Cuvee Dame Honneur Du 2016", which won the best Malbec and the best French red titles at one fell swoop. It is unprecedented in the SIWC competition, and when the results were announced, it was also a shock to the whole audience. It is said that this wine is also loved by the market, often "in short supply", which also verifies the compatibility of SIWC specialty with the wine market.

It is worth mentioning that on the basis of the friendly and high-quality cooperation from the previous session, this competition continues to cooperate with the "ZHIDEMAI" platform. In addition to continuing to authorize the exclusive full live broadcast of "ZHIDEMAI", we jointly established the "Consumer Love Award" for the first time this year, which is based on the advantages of "ZHIDEMAI" website content. Through massive user research, we are exposed to the most authentic voices and needs of consumers, and select high-quality user representatives as judges, Including classmates from the Wine Culture Association of the China Europe Business School, we used the perspective of ordinary consumers on site to select wines with pleasing styles and high cost-effectiveness for ordinary consumers. In the end, a "Consumer Favorite Award" was selected out of the 50 options - "TRINITY HILL GIMBLETT GRAVELS CHARDONNAY San Sainte Hill Chateau Giblet Chardonnay 2020".

Although the SIWC2022 schedule has come to an end, what we want to say is that the relevant work for this competition has just begun! The award-winning wines will be vigorously promoted on various platforms to meet consumers, and will also enter the daily lives of consumers through various channels to meet their aspirations for a better life. So, the end of the award ceremony is undoubtedly a starting shot, and we will carry out a series of activities to continue expanding the influence of SIWC and forge ahead.
