BTTC-China Wine Bland Tasting Competition

The highly anticipated final of the 8th "BTTC China Blind Tasting Championship" ignited fierce competition once again at the Waigaoqiao Global Hub on December 7-8, 2024! Over 100 contestants selected from 26 regional divisions across mainland China, including Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau, gathered to compete for the most prestigious awards in China's influential wine blind tasting competition.

As an art form that rigorously tests memory and analytical skills, blind tasting has gained passionate following among wine enthusiasts. The Global Hub International Wine Exhibition and Trading Center boasts an impressive collection of over 7,000 wine products from nearly 30 countries. The annual SIWC (Shanghai International Wine Challenge), now recognized as one of the world's prominent wine competitions, has laid a solid foundation for the BTTC China Blind Tasting Championship.

Team Competition: Clash of Titans
On December 7, the team competition commenced with all wines selected from 2024 SIWC award-winning vintages. Forty elite teams from 32 regional divisions engaged in intense battles after random group draws. Ultimately, Beijing's "Beishanbei Team" claimed the Overall Team Championship through exceptional performance, followed by Shanghai's "Chengma Team" as runner-up, and Taiwan's "Beyond Team" securing third place. Each team demonstrated remarkable collaboration and individual expertise, delivering thrilling blind tasting showdowns for spectators.

Individual Competition: Gathering of Masters
December 8 witnessed 94 top contestants from 32 divisions converging in Shanghai for three elimination rounds. Through rigorous selection processes (94→47→23→10), the final top ten emerged. Shanghai's Feng Chiyi claimed the championship with outstanding technique and consistent performance, while fellow Shanghai competitors Ada and Deng Liantao won second and third places respectively. Seven contestants - Han Tianping, Guo Shiyang, Machine, Fengzi, Liang Yang, Yuan Peijun, and Wu Tan - earned the "BEST FOUR" distinction, showcasing extraordinary prowess.

The 8th BTTC Championship not only served as a premier blind tasting event but also became a grand gathering of wine elites for knowledge exchange and shared passion, marking a perfect conclusion for the 2024 SIWC. It highlighted Chinese wine enthusiasts' professionalism and enthusiasm while injecting new vitality into China's wine culture development. The event also significantly promoted SIWC award-winning wines.
